Azurite after Cuprite Chessy Copper Mines, Chessy-les-Mines, Villefranche, Rhône, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France "A single sharp black/blue shiny single floater crystal about 15 mm across. Given to me by Arthur Montgomery. I've only seen four of these in my lifetime. The scale under the specimen is an inch with a rule at one cm." - Rock H. Currier Among the more sophisticated of mineral collectors, the name "Chessy" conjures up very specific mental images of sharp, "floater" pseudomorphs, usually of Malachite after Cuprite. While sharp in form they tend to display a matte sort of luster. Rarely are there specimens that are both lustrous and unaltered. The form of the original Cuprite is faithfully reproduced in the deep blue hues characteristic of fine Azurites. Ask your local pseudomorph collector what she/he thinks. Go ahead, I dare you... and the fact this exceptional TN was a gift from Arthur Montgomery, that's icing on the cake! Overall Measurements: 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 inches (1.3 x 1.3 x 1.3 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Gift from Arthur Montgomery [RHC #1484, acquired 1970] MinID FK6-6KN [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
