Azurite & Malachite Nevada Lode, La Sal, La Sal District, San Juan Co., Utah, USA "A cluster of dark blue azurite "balls" on malachite with crystals to about 5 mm and balls up to a little over a cm. Bought this specimen from Les Presmic [sic]/ De Natura at one of the Tucson shows." - Rock H. Currier Great neighborhood for off-roading (Moab & Canyonlands, & Arches, etc.) and scenic mountains (the La Sals) and to top it all off, it is a locality for showy, distinctive Azurite 'blue-berries' on a matrix of matte Malachite. This specimen is from an earlier time - the Azurite is shiny and lustrous - more recent production is much duller in tone. Great esthetics and contrast between the Azurite and Malachite. Overall Measurements: 3.3 x 2.4 x 1.8 inches (8.5 x 6.0 x 4.6 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from De Natura (Les & Paula Presmyk) [RHC #5676, acquired 1990] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
