B-26 GUN TURRET CONTROL

[ translate ]

A rare and important relic from a World War II B-26 Bomber, the aircraft's remote gun turret control, used by the crew's gunner to control the plane's .50 calibre M-2 machine guns. The control measures approximately 12 x 10.5 x 5 in., and features the original two triggers used to fire the turrets, as well as multiple knobs and switches to activate the gunsight camera, change the number of turrets being fired, and more. The piece bears the original markings: "General Electric Turret Drive Model 2CGD 50 USC" and "The Glenn L. Martin Company". Triggers and switches remain operable, although some show resistance due to age. Minor paint loss throughout, else near fine.
