Made in the 1940's in Switzerland this light was originally by Sigfried Giedion (1888-1968) .In 1923, he met Walter Gropius at the Bauhaus, Dessau, and, in 1925, Le Corbusier in Paris. Between 1928-56, he was general secretary of CIAM (Congres Internationaux d’Architecture Moderne), of which he was a founde .In 1932, he helped to reorganize the BAG factory, Turgi (Switzerland) .From 1930 to 1960 most European store were selling the Bag Turgi lamp due to the practical and elegant design of the Swiss Bauhaus.
H.17 , globe 9 x 8.5 in in , good antique condition rewired , light scratch on metal. US standart plug and socket with original switch .
