BALTIMORE, MARYLAND DECORATED STONEWARE DIMINUTIVE WATER COOLER, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with single incised ring and squared rim. Brushed cobalt upright double-blossom floral decoration on both sides, additional cobalt encircling bunghole. Probably the pottery of Peter Herrmann (1825-1901), Baltimore, MD. Second half 19th century.
Condition: Rim having minor bruise and approximately 3 1/2" L light hairline, otherwise undamaged.
Size: 7 3/4" H, 8" D rim.
Provenance: Provenance: Historic property descended in the Clopper-Hutton family, "The Woodlands", Montgomery Co., MD.
