BALTIMORE, MARYLAND DECORATED STONEWARE JAR

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "1" gallon capacity mark, semi-ovoid form with squared rim, beaded neck ring, and arched tab handles. Brushed cobalt dropped floral and leaf decoration to both sides, additional cobalt at handle terminals and below. Mid 19th century.

Condition: Minor flakes to rim, chip and moderate flakes to handles, and two flakes to base. Firing imperfections, including kiln kiss on side, as made.

Size: 10" H, 5 1/2" D rim.
