BARTALI, Gino (Ponte a Ema, 18 July 1914 - Florence, 5 May 2000)
Autograph letter

Original letter written by hand by Gino Bartali, on 12 October 1977, and addressed to a collector and president of a philatelic circle, who was to write an article about Bartali and how he met Fausto Coppi. The letter written on two sheets for three sides, briefly tells by the direct and autograph hand of Gino Bartali, how it happened that Coppi and Bartali met. She begins by saying "I don't have much time to write, much less start making articles. But just to satisfy you as you wish, below, HOW I DID KNOW COPPI. Then you put it back in place and publish it as you want, hoping as always, from respectable person who will send me a copy as soon as he finishes publishing it. Yours sincerely ... "The story continues with singular details and anecdotes, obviously sincere and true. In the lot we find a letter of request to Bartali, an autographed reply envelope, another envelope from 1963, and some sports magazines. A4 sheet format. Good conditions
