ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 733. Bbl. 6”. This is a scarce example of a 36 cal. Beaumont-Adams type pistol was manufactured in America based on the well known English patents held by Adams & Kerr. The marking on the top of the bbl. is nearly illegible but we can discern that it reads, “MANUFACTURED BY MASS. ARMS CO. , CHICOPEE FALLS”. The side of the loading lever is marked, “KERR’S. PATENT APRIL 14, 1857”. The left side of the frame is marked below the cyl., “ADAMS PATENT MAY 3, 1858”. The 5 shot cyl. & frame are both stamped w/ the S# 733. The right side of the frame is marked below the cyl., “PATENT JUNE 3, 1856”. 1 Piece checkered wooden grip w/ iron butt cap. CONDITION: all metal parts have a lightly cleaned, medium to dark patina w/ a few sm. scattered areas of pitting. Mechanics function well. Grip shows moderate wear but no breaks.
