BENOIT Jean
SIGNED AUTOGRAPH SCROLL. 1981. 202 x 21 cm. In a cardboard roll with the recipient's address.
Autograph scroll of Jean Benoit in the spirit of the famous scroll of the Marquis de Sade to which Benoit refers: The 120 Days of Sodom and Gomorrah. This scroll addressed to his friend Abdoul K. El Janaby is a true autobiography. "I arrived in Paris in October 1948 at the Gare Saint-Lazare. Never had I been given such a beautiful display of stationary locomotives, what a show! I'm delirious with enthusiasm. In order of magnitude, there were there, neck and neck, Jarry, Breton, Lautréamont, Rimbaud, Cravan, Rigaut, Vaché, Chirico, Rousselle, Van Gogh, F. Cheval, D. Rousseau, and again, of course, Donatien-Alphonse-François."
