Bergman writes in pencil on a sheet of feint ruled notepaper and states, in part, 'Now look what happened to your letter! You didn't pick it up right away and it fell from its superior place on the table into the fan mail. I open my fan mail from any corner, backwards, upside down and I read the name Mrs. Foster ..It rang a bell, I turn it and sure enough it's your letter. I didn't read it ..though I am dying to know what Mrs. Foster has to say!' With some heavy overall creasing and a series of tears to the upper edge, affecting some words of text but not the signature. FR £120-180
