BERNARD MCGUIGAN | MEANING
BERNARD MCGUIGAN
b.1956
MEANING
signed with initials and dated 09
Italian slate on the Artist's limestone base
height (including base): 49.5cm.; 19½in.
Condition Report:
The sculpture appears sound and the upper section is held on its base with a small screw. The base has some very slight rounding to the extreme corners, and a small number of tiny chips and nicks to the extreme edges. The large slate section has a small number of tiny scratches to one of the vertical faces, possibly in keeping with the Artist's intentions. There are a large number of scratches to the circumference of the shape where the Artist has worked the stone, these are overwhelmingly in keeping with the Artist's working methods and intentions. There is one small nick to the stone in the upper section on the outside. There is some light surface dirt throughout. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
The work has an integral Artist's base.
