4to (307 x 232mm). 4 hand-colored engraved plates, including 2 by Beisson after Prudhon, one by Copia after Prudhon and one drawn and engraved by Prudhon. Modern half calf and marbled boards, custom clamshell box. Foxing, some marginal staining and fingermarks.
The print of Phrosine and Mélidore is the only known plate drawn and engraved by Pierre-Paul Prud'hon himself. Brunet I:795; Cohen-de Ricci 133-134.
