BILL BLACKWOOD DA PDA WINTER SOLSTICE

After graduation from GSA in 1972, he travelled to the USA and spent 4 years in Denver and Columbia, Maryland creating sculptural and architectural concepts for private and public patrons including Gary Oil, Head Ski & Tennis and Vail Ski Resort. On returning to the UK he settled in Edinburgh and worked in advertising before setting up his own consultancy in 1991. Working for international clients in Britain and Europe including Babcock PLC and Rosyth Dockyard he designed 3D exhibitions in Cologne, London and Aberdeen. Blackwood then became a full time artist in2001. His work is prominent in many private and public collections such as British Telecom, Allied Irish Bank, Fresh fields London, Dickson Minto, McTaggart & Mickel and the Scotsman. He continues to stage solo exhibitions at the Atrium Edinburgh, the Georgian House Edinburgh and Oran Mor Glasgow. Blackwoods sensual approach to the human figure and landscape continues to delight to this day.
