BLADE RUNNER (1982) POSTER, US
SIGNED BY RIDLEY SCOTT, DIRECTOR.
Art by John Alvin (1948-2008).

41 x 27 in. (104 x 69 cm)

Ridley Scott's 80s sci-fi film has become a true cult classic. Thirty-five years on a sequel (Blade Runner 2049) was made, also starring Harrison Ford and co-written by one the film's original writers, Hampton Fancher.

John Alvin was an illustrator, with over 30 years in designing film posters. Alvin is best known for his fantasy, sci-fi and animation film posters. Alvin's individual style can be clearly seen in this piece. Alvin cleverly hid his name on a building in the artwork. Ridley Scott signed this poster when attending the premiere of his film Prometheus in London's Leicester Square. It is rare for anyone to have an original film poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs and video/dvd sleeves. It is unusual to have the film's poster with you when you try to obtain signatures.
