Launched in 1953, to answer to the demand of military and professional divers the fifty fathoms became an instant success.
This current model is a German military issued watch and dates from around 1965 as seen by the lack of date and the graduated 60 minute bezel similar to those found on Rolex military Submariners. The large "No radiation" logo was added by the manufacture to reassure the public that the watch was free of harmful radiation unlike some of the earlier dive watches that were equipped with radium.
