BMW - 318 e21 - 1980

[ translate ]

Hello Franco, I have already edited the ad with the detail of the original upholstery. 1980 BMW 318 E21 type bodywork. Inline-four engine, double Solex carburettor, producing 98 HP. 4-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive. Used for the first time in Madrid in 1980. Only one owner until 2021. Wonderful colour combination of silver with blue velour. Options: manual sliding roof, four Panasonic loudspeakers, 5. 5x13” sheet metal rims, metallic paint, etc. The car has been very little used in the last ten years. The last vehicle inspection was in 2011. Recent service (October 2021) : oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, brake fluid, coolant, fuel tank cleaning, new battery, etc. Besides, less than 1,000 km ago, the car got: five new tyres, rear brakes, Bilstein shock absorbers, etc. In the last few years the car had restored: bodywork, mouldings and paintwork to its original colour. It has also several new headlights, tail light covers and details. There are several invoices for these works which add up to almost €5,000. As you can see in the photos, the boot lid has a ‘320’ emblem, as the owner did not find a ‘318’ emblem when he restored the car. . . and neither did I. The car starts well and drives properly. Despite the recent maintenance, you must foresee some additional maintenance, as the car has been stored, virtually unused, for 10 years. Interior: the dashboard has several cracks that are shown in the photographs. The passenger seat has a small flaw which is barely noticeable (see photograph) , and the rear seat is in good condition, but needs some good cleaning. However, the driver’s seat needs restoration. I have found the original fabric at a specialist in Germany. Car located in Madrid, 10’ from the airport. The car has up-to-date Spanish documents, has a newly passed inspection in October 2021, which is valid for one year, with no serious failures. It is advisable to see the vehicle before bidding to avoid any disappointment afterwards. For a viewing appointment, please contact Catawiki.
