BMW
700 LS COUPE'

VIN. #25953

- A CAR THAT HAS ALWAYS LIVED IN ITALY
- CHARMING RECENT HISTORY
- SOME RESTORATION WORK DONE DIRECTLY BY BMW CLASSIC IN MUNICH
- ALSO SUITABLE FOR SPORTING EVENTS

After the war BMW, whose facilities were located in the GDR, started up again with a small car derived from the Isetta. But it needed to offer something more than this, albeit still with a small displacement engine. In July 1958, Austrian importer Denzel proposed a particularly elegant model, designed by Giovanni Michelotti, which BMW launched on the market on June 9th, 1959. As well as the two-door four-seater version, a light and sporty coupé was also presented, powered by the same 697 cc 30 HP engine, capable of reaching speeds of up to 125 km/h. The one now offered for sale has always been in Italy, having been sold new in the Rome area and subsequently registered with Alessandria license plates by a new owner. In 2014, BMW Classic bought it and overhauled it at its Munich workshop, also painting it in light gray/white, before auctioning it for charity at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa D’Este. There, it was purchased by its present owner, Villa d’Este CEO Jean-Marc Droulers.
