BMW
Z1

VIN. #WBABA91090AL02239

- ONLY 8012 PRODUCED
- THE FIRST BMW SPIDER AFTER THE 507 OF THE 1950s. INNOVATIVE AND REVOLUTIONARY
- DERIVED FROM THE BMW SHOW CAR EXHIBITED AT THE 1987 FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW
- COMPLETE AND VERY CLEAN HISTORY. JUST 3 OWNERS
- OBSESSIVELY WELL CARED FOR

The Z1 is the first open car produced by BMW following the legendary 507 launched in 1959. It is the first model in the Z series that culminated with the Z8 unveiled in 2000. BMW initially saw the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show as an opportunity to showcase its technological capabilities, which it did by presenting a show car featuring a galvanized steel chassis, plastic body panels and a flat floor. The car also had the air extractor positioned above the bumper instead of the rear wing, as well as countless other new features. BMW dealers and customers clamored for it to go into production and the company bowed to their pressure, going on to build just a small number of this model which were offered at an exorbitant price. Lovely to drive, as the weight is distributed 50:50, this car is reliable, fun and truly special, thanks to its descending doors. Often considered the youngtimer with the greatest potential for growth, it is highly sought after, even in America where it was not imported at the time. The Z1 now up for sale has a clock reading of just over 60,000 km. It is red with the rare Camouflage leather interior lining. It has had just three owners, all Italian, and has been in possession of the most recent one since 2012. Perfectly kept after being completely restored. A true “Blue Chip” stock.
