BMW
Z3 M ROADSTER
VIN. #WBSCK91060LD20055
- THE FIRST HIGH-PERFORMANCE BMW SPIDER SINCE THE TIMES OF THE 507
- SPORTS VERSION OF ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VEHICLES TO COME OUT OF MUNICH
- GIVEN TO CARROZZERIA BERTONE BY BMW TO MAKE A PROTOTYPE
- COMPLETELY ORIGINAL
- 28,826 KM FROM NEW
In 1996 BMW returned to the open sports car market with its Z3 M, a spiced-up version of its Z3 spider, unveiled a year earlier. The Z3 M was a real beast thanks to its engine, namely the six-cylinder 3.2-liter 236 Kw unit that already equipped the M3. Obviously, to be able to use this engine, the whole suspension system had to be modified, with the result that it featured, among other things, a limited-slip differential, stiffened suspension and more powerful brakes to compensate for the vehicle’s greater power. The car offered for sale, completed on March 10th 1996, has an unusual story, having been gifted to Carrozzeria Bertone by BMW to serve as the basis for a prototype. However, this project never came to fruition. The car, therefore, was never formally registered, and after being used with “prova” number plates for a while by Bertone executives, it was finally parked in the Bertone museum, where it has remained ever since. Completely original, it has a color scheme (Evergreen on leather/soft leather of the same color) only seen on the Z3 M. Vehicle as well preserved as this one are hard to come by.
