The two had a long-standing feud over seniority and leadership in the early days of the US Army, both being veterans of the War of 1812, Seminole War and others. Measures 9 1/4" x 6". Raised bands, gilt titles and 3/4 leather binding with marbled boards. Very good condition with straight and tight boards, minor shelfwear, and some foxing. Adjutant General's Library stamp to title page. Part of a large estate collection of Florida antiques, some of which is offered in today's auction.
