Folio (ca. 41,5 x 26 cm.), disbound.

Third enlarged & revised Dutch edition of one of the most important herbals by the Flemish physician & botanist Rembertus Dodonaeus (=Rembert Dodoens, 1517-1585). Between pp. 1363-1474 the American & Asian plants are described by Carolus Clusius (=Charles de l’Écluse, 1526-1609). All titles of the woodcut text-illustrations are printed in a fine civilité-type. – Incomplete copy (in poor condition): lacks at least the engr. title and a part of the (preliminary) text- & index-leaves, (marg.) waterstained throughout, part of the text-leaves frayed/ torn in outer blank margins. Sold as a collection of woodcuts (with all faults, not subject to return).
