BOULLE CLOCK ON PLINTH

Régence, Paris ca. 1720/30. The dial signed Seugnot à Paris, the movement signed De St. Blimonde à Paris.
Slightly curved case, decorated with brown tortoiseshell and inlaid with engraved brass. Chiseled and gilt bronze mounts. Door bronze designed as three mythological water creatures. Bronze dial with white enamel cartouches. Movement with verge escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell.
42 × 20 × 110 cm.
