BOXED MARKLIN AMERICAN EAGLE PASSENGER SET | Scarce and early set, clockwork, Hand painted, Gauge 1, circa 1900 outstanding set of eagle cars in classic orange and blue colors, platforms and steps at each end, early drop link couplers and cast iron wheels, led by a very rare and elusive American outline 4-4-0 loco with many trimmings and parts not used on their other locomotives, large boxy "American" style cab, long elegant cow catcher made of hand soldered individual pieces of wire that stretch to a point out front of the pony truck, guided down the tracks by light from its headlamp mounted atop the boiler, and warning pedestrians with its nickel plated bell as it goes, this set is the epitome of early Marklin. | Loco & tender 16.5" length. | Pony truck has some minor reinforcement soldering, pony truck wheels likely added, box is missing lid, minor chipping at cars, overall (Pristine Condition) | $30,000 - $50,000
