BRIAN YOUNG
b.1934
SKEW

signed and dated 1962 on the reverse
oil on canvas
175 by 175cm.; 69 by 69in.

Condition Report:
The canvas appears to be original. There are faint abrasions to the extreme edges and to the extreme corners. There is reticulation to the extreme edges in places with tiny instances of loss in places, with further more minor instances elsewhere. There is evidence of fine lines of craquelure towards the upper left corner, at the centre of the right edge, centre of the upper left green cross line, and a few more minor instances elsewhere. There is a small dent towards the lower left corner in the green line only visible upon extremely close inspection. There are light rubs to the surface of the work and scuffs to the work. There is minor discolouration to the white pigment in places. The canvas sits slightly loose on the stretcher bars. There is light dirt, and studio detritus to the surface of the work. This excepting, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.

Inspection under Ultraviolet light reveals a few isolated spots of fluorescence and retouching to the work, including at intervals to the edges.

The work is presented unframed.
