BRITISH ARTISTS: Selection of A.Ls.S., a few signed postcard reproductions etc., by various British painters, sculptors, illustrators and artists, comprising Alfred Munnings (stating that he won't be able to paint a portrait of Lady Rose's little boy until April, but would like to do it and remarking 'I know all that country well & also Lady Rose's charming house. The cost of the picture would depend on its size. I should say from £100 upwards accordingly', n.y.), William Russell Flint (sending Christmas and New Year greetings, accompanied by the original envelope), Henry Scott Tuke (vintage signed sepia postcard reproduction of his work All Hands to the Pumps, 1910), John Bellany (signed and inscribed colour postcard reproduction of an artwork), Frederick William Pomeroy (sending thanks for his correspondent's kind congratulations and remarking 'I am sure you feel out in the cold, as I did, but I hope we old friends may be able to make it hot for you in the coming elections. Unfortunately there is not room for all at once, but it comes to those who wait, sometimes', 1906) and Harry Furniss (Brief A.L.S., Hy. F., to [Herbert Beerbom] Tree, seemingly thanking him for an invitation to attend a performance of Richard II at His Majesty's Theatre on 14th October 1903 and featuring a large original pen and ink illustration of Furniss and his wife standing in full length poses before Herbert Beerbohm Tree). Some light age wear and a few minor faults, G to about VG, 6
