BRITISH MARKED COLT NEW SERVICE DA REVOLVER.

Cal. 455 Eley. S# 94530. Bbl. 5 1/2". Blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Mfg. 1916. Blued finish. The main spring is a replacement. The left side of the revolver has various British proofs. Cyl. appears to fit both the 455 Eley and the 45 Long Colt. Checkered black Colt grips, with the right panel having a matching penciled number twice and the name "Meredith." A lanyard ring is present on the bottom of the grip frame. CONDITION: right grip panel shows a crack on the bottom; grips otherwise show overall flattening to checkering, some chips, and dirt staining. Metal retains 20% of its blue with overall fading to gray, some scattered oxidation, and a few areas of pitting. Very good bore. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Robert "Mike" Bricker.
