Condition Report:
The canvas does not appear to have been lined. There are areas of bitumen damage. Surface cracking and stretcher marks. Inspection under UV scattered areas of retouching including to sitter's face and jacket. The work is presented in a large gilt-wood and composition frame with numerous losses and later gold painted.

Some bitumen on deep red, slight rubbing in a couple of areas, not relined. Frame has some gesso losses, particularly on the bottom two corners. Condition Report Disclaimer
