BRONZE MYTHICAL BEAST SCULPTURE

A finely worked cast bronze sculpture of a mythical Kirin. The sculpture is unmarked. It has a drilled cross-piece to the underside. Possibly a MMA designated casting of an historic piece (Tallix was known to have produced bronzes for the MMA). Measures: H 2 1/2" x L 5" x W 2 1/2" Provenance: Ex-Collection of Dick Polich, Polich Tallix Fine Art Foundry. Polich and Tallix produced significant sculptural works over many years. He is known to have produced art with artists such as, Willem de Kooning, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler, ERTE, Julian Schnabel, Richard Artschwager, Isamu Noguchi, and many others. NOTE: Polich/Tallix produced modern reproductions for the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) collection. This may have been one of these works.
