The Dodgertown spring training facility was first dubbed "Dodger Town" when it was founded in Vero Beach, FL, in 1948. Five years later, the Holman Stadium was completed on the property. At the stadium's inaugural game on March 11, 1953, the Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Athletics 4-2.
