BROOKLYN / GIANT PRISM WITH THUMBPRINT BAND OPEN COMPOTE, colorless lead glass, hemispherical bowl with 48-scallop rim, raised on an Early Thumbprint/Argus base having a hollow 12-flute stem and 24-scallop foot with single row of 24 thumbprints underneath, wafer construction. Bakewell, Pears & Co., Pittsburgh. Third quarter 19th century. 8 3/4" H, 9 1/4" D rim, 5 1/2" D foot.
Nearly undamaged with a single chip to the rim.
