Bruno Mathsson was a prominent Swedish furniture designer who was born on 13 January 1907 in Värnamo, Sweden, and died on 10 August 1988. He is best known for his innovative and ergonomic furniture designs.

The “Eva” armchair is one of Bruno Mathsson's most famous works and is regarded as one of his greatest design achievements. Created during the 1940s, it is known for its undulating and organic shape, which is inspired by the body's natural curves and movement.

The company Karl Mathsson in Värnamo was founded by his father Karl Mathsson who himself was a carpenter in the fourth generation.
