BSA
SLOPER 500
Founded in Birmingham in 1861, the Birmingham Small Arms Company, better known as BSA, was a producer of small arms, especially rifles, that quickly became considered the very best in its field. Several decades later it embarked on motorcycle manufacturing and excelled once again, becoming an absolute benchmark in this field too. The motor bike offered for sale is the BSA with engine BSA 4.93 HP OHV De Luxe S31-10 model, the most expensive of the Sloper series. It has three-speed manual transmission, brake pedals, and wet sump lubrication (a truly sophisticated feature for the time). The instrument panel, spectacular and working, it comprises a Smiths 2” clock with 8-day power reserve. The bike has covered approximately 700 miles since its restoration, and it is fully functional. It is currently fitted with an Amal monobloc carburetor, with the original one is included in this motorcycle lot along with other original spare parts. It has UK documents and an FMI historical certificate, useful for its registration in Italy. One of the most desirable bikes of the 1930s: a real must for enthusiasts of classic bikes produced between the World Wars.
