BUCCELLATI
“Tulle” Brooch
Round brilliant-cut and eight-eight-cut diamonds
18k gold (750)
Signed Buccellati, circa 1940–50
M. Buccellati case
Dimensions: approx. 4.2 x 3.5 cm - Weight: 11.4 g
A diamond and gold brooch, signed Buccellati
Note:
Initiated by the house’s founder, Mario Buccellati, as early as the 1920s, “Tulle”—which takes its name from the fabric—is a unique goldsmithing technique whose delicacy and precision quickly established the jeweler’s reputation. Sometimes compared to a honeycomb pattern, Buccellati’s “Tulle” features irregular polygonal openwork through which gemstones or motifs—such as the foliage pattern inspired by Venetian lace—can be layered. The result of countless hours of work, each piece in the “Tulle” collection is meticulously handcrafted using centuries-old techniques.
