A Louis XVI mahogany cylinder desk

CONDITION REPORT :
Fair overall condition. Scratches, marks and some stains to the marble top. Some very minor chips to the external moulding of the marble top and two traces of previous restored accidents to the front area of the marble top. One horizontal split to the cylinder. Few shrinkage cracks on both sides of the bureau. Some tiny accidents and losses to the veneer in places, as expected (on both sides of the desk). One part of the gilt-metal moulding surrounding the cylinder is loosened and slightly detached from the cylinder itself (it could benefit from strenghtehing). The mahogany is sun-faded, as stated in the catalogue. Wears to the internal writing leather surface. Some tiny accidents and losses to the internal area of the bureau. Fitted with two keys.
