BYRON BROWNE?—Self Portrait O/C, 1949

Self-portrait oil on canvas painting, possibly by Byron Browne (American, 1907-1961). Signed with a BB monogram at the subject's left shoulder, with notation verso "3 Hr. Myself, april 1949." Painting measures 13" x 15", unframed. The notation verso is in the style, with similar handwriting, that Browne used to title and sign many of his paintings. Subject also very much resembles the artist. Very good condition. Slight slack at lower right and a few spots of wear.
