Babe Ruth Signed Photo, "Takes a New Grip," PSA Slabbed
Signed photograph

A printed, vintage photograph of the legendary slugger holding a bat, boldly signed in the lower left as "Babe Ruth" in blue fountain pen. 1p, measuring 4" x 3.75", n.p., n.d. [ca. 1930s]. Captioned above, "Babe Takes a New Grip After Signing," likely in reference to Ruth's tendency to bat with his left hand and hold a pen with his right. Scattered soiling throughout, with minor ink blooming to signature. Evidence of prior mounting on verso resulting in faint surface loss; uneven cut margins. Otherwise, very good. Verified authentic and encapsulated by PSA/DNA to an overall size of 6.5" x 10".

From the collection of Joseph “Bill” Kahn, Jr. Mr. Kahn began collecting as a boy; writing to notables requesting their autographs. Our October auction includes signatures obtained by him over many decades, including such notables as Amelia Earhart, Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
