Shoulder baby carrier. From Tigray, north Ethiopia. Leather material with coloured beads and cauris. A very old baby carrier in old treated leather, with glass beads and various decorations. Richly decorated, the Tigray upland women carry their children on their shoulders without ever lacking elegance and great imagination in the use of the few materials available. A marvellous piece, with a great patina and marvellous decorations. Max. length 93 cm x 63 cm, indicating only the leather part for transport. Excellent workmanship.
