Bachtiar - Rug - 195 cm - 130 cm

Exceptional and unique antique Bakhtiari piece, Persian rug, wool on wool, which is special and certifies its production period, second half of the 19th century, then (since the early decades of the 20th century) warp and weft were made of cotton. Preserved in very good condition, wool on wool, cobalt blue background, the main pattern is the tree of life. The extreme stylisation of the latter bring us back to its origin: the Axis Mundi, which symbolises the connection between the underworld, the centre of the earth, and the heavens through the surface, hence the reason for the green colour. We also see many other motifs dear to the Bakhtiari people, springs of life, small amulets and human figures. . . Collectable rug fully made of fleece, 195x130 cm. Very fine knots, very soft wools.
