The semi-antique Persian tribal rug was made in the Persian village of Faradombeh located in Bakhtiari Provence. Measuring 337cmx213cm and made from wool on cotton weft circa the start of the 20th century, it has a distinctive floral design with striking antique colours. Faradonbeh rugs originate their designs and colors from fabrics and textiles of the European Renaissance period and for this reason, their distinctive designs have become the hallmark of their rug weavings over the centuries. Condition wise it has uneven wear with spots of small holes, fraying on one end with old repair and a small area of discoloration.
