Polish Badge of the Union of Veterans of Military Railway Guards 1918-1920. Badge text: (WOJSK. STRAŻ KOLEJOWA 1918/1920) MILIT. RAILWAY GUARD 1918 - 1920. Approved by the Official Order of the Ministry of Military Affairs No. 26, item 326 from 1927. Producer: Stanisław Lipczyński, Warsaw. Dimensions approximately: 55 x 55 mm, S.LIPCZYŃSKI WARSZAWA company nut.Two-piece, silver-plated tombac (remains of silvering) and enamelled (enamel defects). Numbered: digit 6. On November 18, 1918, at the request of the Warsaw Railway Directorate, the Ministry of Railways established the Railway Guard. On April 28, 1919, the Ministry of Military Affairs issued a decree accepting the Railway Guard during the war under its orders. In May this year there was also a change of name to the Military Railway Guard. Her tasks have also changed, which in this situation were as follows: 1) guard service at bridges, tunnels, viaducts, telegraph and telephone exchanges 2) protection of signaling devices 3) protection of pressure towers, fuel tanks and food points for passing soldiers (military food stations) 4) patrolling railway lines,On February 1, 1920, the Military Railway Guards were dissolved.
