A fascinating landscape rug from the Heriz area. The design was comprehensively discussed by us in our description of a white-ground example considerable later in date for our auction A 105. The late collector purchased the rug at Galerie Eberhart Herrmann in Munich in 1991. The AT&T 3 catalogue mentions the fact that the rug was the only example in a blue ground colour known at the time.

Signs of age and wear, especially in the upper horizontal border. Some old repairs. Both finishes backed with a textile band.
