The nomadic Bakhtiar people live west of the city of Isfahan, near the Zagros Mountains. The strong yet soft wool makes every Bakhtiar rug unique. The Bakhtiar carpet is extremely durable and resilient.
This Bakhtiar is a so-called garden pattern, also called “Kheshti”. The motifs from the plant and animal worlds are typical of this pattern. The most commonly used natural colors are red, brown and cream.
The warp and weft are usually made of cotton and the pile is made of high-quality regional sheep's wool - the dense weave makes the carpet extremely durable.
This carpet was imported into the EU in 2023.
