Item: Opaline Glass box with under-platter with silver mountings. Function: Tea box, tea caddy, cookie jar, pot, box. Maker: Baksteen & Middendorp. Dated: 1861-1889. Origin: The Netherlands. Rotterdam. Material: Opaline, glass, frosted & silver. Colour: White + silver Condition: In perfect condition. Rare because the under-platter is still there. Silver marks: This is where the master sign is engraved. This reads: "Bn. M", with a star below it. (together in a square) On the image on the lid you can also see a Dutch sword. This is the older / first sword (used from 1814 until 1906.) This sword can also be found on the oval frame around the box. Silver content 833. Very unique and special!
