Balcells is a cartoonist and illustrator. He worked in the sixties for S. I and other agencies drawing horror, police, western comics. . . He published in England, Germany and other countries. His horror comics were published by the German publisher Bastei Verlag in Gespenster Geschichten, and other comics were Bromm, Arsat, der Dämonenjäger, Tex Norton and Spuk Geschichten. He has published in Marvel comics in Vampire Tales magazine and in Holland in Tina magazine. In Editorial Bruguera with the comic strips by Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente and in other magazines such as Escalofrio. In the nineties he worked as an animation cartoonist in series such as El regreso de D'artacan, Las mil y una. . . Américas, Mortadelo y Filemón. . . Animation for companies such as BRB, Walt Disney, Warner Bros, Universal and Cartoon Network. . .
