The Ballet Dancers French School, circa 1890 oil painting on canvas, framed canvas: 42cm x 34cm framed: 53cm x 46cm provenance: private collection, France Beautiful antique French Impressionist oil painting from circa 1890. The work is possibly an unfinished sketch or preparatory working painting to be finished later in the artists studio; this might account for it not being signed. There are obvious influences from Edgar Degas (1834-1917) and his love of capturing ballet dancers; the palette of colors used by the artist also shows this influence. Further research is required into the paintings authorship. Well presented in this ornate gilt frame and looking superb.
