Baltic Amber Cabochon - with large Flower inclusion - 7.53×15.2×17.74 mm

Exceptionally sized flower in Baltic amber. Size of the inclusion: Approximately 12 mm. This type of inclusion in amber is exceptional. In general the amber flowers come from trees that lose them by the thousands each year and are usually calyxes. Not only is this one a whole flower with a piece of stem but it comes from the herbaceous stratum. Besides, it has an exceptional size. Its shape is reminiscent of that of our current bellflowers. We can see the stamens that were severed perhaps by an insect and fell back into the chalice. On the one hand, the lack of amber allows us to see the internal structure of the flower. A museum worthy piece! (note the natural crack of the amber visible in the 2nd photo) All my ambers are authentic, hand polished, tested by several methods (UV, etc. . .) .
