Baluster-shaped vases - Japonism (2) - Bronze (patinated) - Second half 19th century
Superb mid-19th century vases, baluster-shaped, in patinated bronze, with a very beautiful chiselling. inspired by the "Japonism" of the Napoleon III period, circa 1860, subsequent to the Universal Exhibition of 1855 (see reference photo 12 with the same décor on 19th century bronze vases with a Japanese signature sold at Essex UK) Magnificent garlands of volubilis (very innovative decoration at that time) and very beautiful chiselled handles of branches surrounded by foliage. Mounted on black marble pedestal. The neck of the vases is removable forming an inner vase. . . very practical to create bouquets without having to move the whole vase. Dimensions: height: 31 cm - width: 14. 5 cm - neck diameter: 7. 7 cm - base diameter: 10. 5 cm 6. 4 kg In very good condition. With minimal traces of wear. (See pictures)
