In keeping with Bamana tradition, this vessel would have been made by either the wife or daughter of a village blacksmith, as they were the only people permitted to make pots.

Condition Report: 13" hairline to body near base (goes through). Five holes drilled to bottom. Several chips to high points of decorative elements. Chips to rim and edge foot and of overall wear due to usage.
