Constructed with an architectural rectangular form, the basket combines tightly woven bamboo panels with polished bamboo framing, creating a harmonious balance of strength and elegance. The body is executed in an exceptionally dense weave that produces a rich, tactile surface, while the edges are reinforced with carefully fitted bamboo bindings. A gracefully arched handle, wrapped in finely coiled rattan, provides both structural integrity and visual refinement. The front is fitted with a patinated metal clasp that complements the warm tones of the bamboo. The restrained design emphasizes proportion, texture, and craftsmanship rather than ornament, reflecting the Japanese appreciation for functional beauty.
