Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang, ca. 300 BCE. A sizable bichrome pottery vessel with a wide base, thick pedestal neck, bulbous bowl with a deep interior cavity, and a large flared rim. The surface is covered in a tantalizing decorative program of orange-red linear, triangular, and dot-shaped designs over a cream-hued base. Size: 9.25" H (23.5 cm).
